A Deep Conversation with the Positive and Confident Actor, Allen Maldonado

Who is Allen Maldonado?

He is an artist, known for acting, producing, directing, painting, writing. 

What does he represent as a person?

As a man he represents peace, tranquility, being great at his passions, a workaholic and “funaholic.”

What got him into acting?

During his senior year in high school he took an acting class. The moment he experienced his first day in acting class he knew he belonged there; it felt so easy and natural for him.  

What is your advice for aspiring actors?

See it as a small business. Don’t see it as an acting career. Take control of your own brand and brand yourself. Stand out.

How did you learn marketing, branding, and business?

Allen took two years of business classes at a city college and used that knowledge to further pursue his passions.

What’s your most favorite role in acting?

Rooster: he was able to perform stunts, show athleticism, and wrestle. It really aligned with his vision and personality. Allen appeared in “Psych 3: This is Gus.” Allen thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone in the cast was talented, but the most important part for him was that everyone in the cast was like a family to him.

How do you balance life, work, and everything? How do you take care of yourself?

He puts the same amount of energy in his work as he does for his self care and mental health. For example, a mini vacation or “day-cation”. He plans just as much as he does for his career as he does with his time off.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

Spain. He loves the rich culture, the people, and the environment is beautiful.

How has Covid impacted your life?

For him, ultimately everything is the same, however it just added another layer of challenge when making movies such as having a longer process making the movies.

What is your life mantra?

“Never let anyone out love you loving you”. Self love is the foundation of all love. Fuel people with love.
